The population of Wyandot County has been fairly constant between 20,000 and 23,000 from 1900 until today where, according to recent census estimates (2007) it stands at 22471. With a land area of 406 square miles, this translates to a population density of approximately 55 persons per square mile. The population is 96.2% white, with the remainder being African-American (0.5%), Asian (0.7%), and Hispanic or Latino (2.1%). According to the 2000 Census, 45.6% of the population claimed German ancestry, 19.5% American, 7.0% English and 6.9% Irish. The median age of the population is 37.4 years.
